Inspiration

The inspiration behind Harley & Wager

The spirit of the racecourse.
The art of the detail.

British racing heritage, expressed through the finishing touches of a beautifully considered home.

Each Harley & Wager range takes its name from a UK racecourse — a collection of places with their own character, traditions and unmistakable sense of occasion.

Ascot ribbed cabinet cup handles in brass and black finishes

A British point of view

Heritage with a contemporary expression.

There is a particular elegance to the British racecourse: the rhythm of the rails, the sweep of the landscape, the tailoring and the ritual. Familiar details come together to create something with presence.

This is the world behind our collection names. From Ascot and Aintree to Cartmel and Kelso, they connect our hardware with a tradition of character and individuality. In the home, that spirit finds a new expression through balanced proportions, tactile surfaces and carefully chosen finishes.

Three expressions of the collection

Names with a story. Details with character.

Brass and black Ascot cup handles showing ribbed detailing

01 / Ascot

A sense of occasion.

Inspired by the name and heritage of Ascot Racecourse.

Ascot evokes ceremony, style and an appreciation of the finer details. Our Ascot range brings that mood to cabinetry through classic knobs, decorative backplates and distinctive cup handles.

Pair its ribbed detailing with painted Shaker doors, or use the smoother pieces to lend quiet character to fitted furniture. Matt brushed brass adds warmth; matt black gives the same forms a sharper outline.

Aintree smooth cabinet knobs in black and brass finishes

02 / Aintree

Quiet confidence.

Named after the home of the Grand National.

Aintree is a name with an enduring place in British racing. In our collection, its confident character is expressed through smooth surfaces and a slender, uncomplicated silhouette.

Use the bar handle to introduce a clean line across drawers, then repeat the finish with the compact matching knob. Against natural wood or softly painted cabinetry, the effect is composed and understated.

Epsom cabinet knobs with textured knurled surfaces

03 / Epsom

Texture, beautifully defined.

A name drawn from Epsom Downs, home of the Derby.

The sense of occasion associated with Epsom offers a fitting backdrop to a collection with a more expressive surface. Knurled detailing gives the Epsom range its distinctive visual and tactile character.

Let the texture stand against simple door fronts. Gloss brass creates a warm focal point, while matt black offers a more graphic finish. Coordinating bar handles and knobs bring continuity to the whole scheme.

Design, material & manufacture

Refinement you can see.
Detail you can feel.

A handle is one of the few design details you experience by touch every day. Its proportions, surface and finish deserve the same consideration as the cabinetry around it.

Form & proportion

A slender bar, a defined edge or a compact knob changes the rhythm of a furniture front. Our ranges offer different expressions of that balance, from the architectural profile of Kelso to the crisp geometry of Haydock.

Material & finish

Across the collections, zinc alloy and aluminium provide the foundation for a considered palette of finishes. Brushed tones, polished surfaces and matt black each reveal the form in a different way; materials and finishes vary by range.

Surface & detail

Manufacture gives a design its physical character: the definition of a rib, the texture of a knurled surface, the meeting of an edge and a curve. These are the details that bring a piece of cabinet hardware into focus.
